Horror adventure set in the outback

Steel Roamer is a free adventure game for PC from indie developer Kyle Kirley. It's a first-person horror title that takes place in the Australian Outback wherein players come face-to-face with twisted reimaginings of its animal inhabitants turned into devilish creatures prowling the night and out for the hunt.

Outback nightmare

In Steel Roamer, you find yourself mysteriously awakening inside your RV in the middle of the Australian Outback in the dead of night. Your main objective is to find a way back to the city and to do so, you will need to trigger nine signal towers to get help from the authorities.

However, you remember stories of a devilish creature that lurks during the night going by names like Shadow Hopper and Silent Roo. There is more to those tales than they lead on, and you're about to experience a close encounter. Now, the gameplay itself is one short side and depending on how you play, will last anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

Bouncing in the night

If you've played the game Iron Lung before, you're about to get a case of deja vu with Steel Roamer as it directly draws inspiration from it. It's dark, atmospheric, and just as creepy, albeit with a distinct Aussie vibe and theme to it. Although the game is short, it's worth a play nonetheless and you should give it a shot.

PROS

  • Dark and atmospheric
